The English opening, George Ford will leave Leicester Tigers and will become a new player of Sharks out for the 2022/2023 season. The 10 who knew how to wear the team’s shirt signed a three-year contract with his new club.
“George Ford is world class, one of the best backs of the last five years. This season he is probably playing the best rugby of his career, so we are hiring him at the right time,” said Sale’s Head Coach.
George Ford made his debut for the Leicester Tigers in 2009, becoming the youngest rugby player to make his professional debut in England, at just 16 years and 237 days.
After winning a Premiership title with the Tigers in 2013, he moved to Bath, winning the Golden Boot as top scorer and winning the Young Player of the Year award, before returning to Leicester for the 2018-19 season.
In total, he has made 79 appearances for the Leicester Tigers and is the league’s leading points scorer this season with 107 points to his name.
