Leodán González will replace Andrés Cunha in the South American final

The Uruguayan referee Leodán González will replace his compatriot Andres Cunha in the VAR of the CONMEBOL Sudamericana final, to be played this Saturday at 5:00 p.m. at the Centenario stadium between Bragantino and Athletico Paranaense.

This was defined and communicated by CONMEBOL this Wednesday afternoon, after in the morning it suspended Cunha and Esteban Ostojich indefinitely for the mistakes they made during the meeting this Tuesday between rgentina vs. Brazil South American Qualifiers, highlighting the non-review of the play where the attacker Raphinha received a blow from defender Nicolás Otamendi at minute 33.

The Uruguayan Andrés Matonte will also be the main referee of the match between Paranaense and Bragantino, and the Orientals Martín Soppi and Carlos Barreiro will be the assistants, while Christian Ferreira and Andrés Nievas will be the fourth and fifth referee, respectively.

González will be the main judge in the video arbitration booth, where the Peruvian Víctor Carrillo, the Uruguayan Nicolás Taran and the Venezuelan Juan Soto will also work. The Colombian José Buitrago will be the referee’s advisor, and the Quality Manager will be the Paraguayan Enrique Cáceres.

The 38-year-old referee born in Tala will also be in the VAR of the Copa Libertadores final, which will be played on Saturday, November 27 between Flamengo and Palmeiras at the Montevideo Centennial.

In the final of the Libertadores, the referee team will be made up of the Argentines Néstor Pitana, the lines Juan P. Belatti and Gabriel Chade, and Facundo Tello and Maximiliano del Yesso will be the fourth and fifth referee.

Chilean Julio Bascuñán will lead the VAR, where he will be assisted by Argentine Germán Delfino (AVAR 1), Colombian Alexander Guzmán (AVAR 2) and Uruguayan González (AVAR 3). The Referee advisor will be the Uruguayan Dario Ubríaco, and the Chilean Carlos Astroza will be the Quality Manager.
