Cardinals vs. Seahawks - Game Report - November 21, 2021

SEATTLE (AP) – Colt McCoy did an outstanding job to once again replace Kyler Murray, throwing for 328 yards with two touchdowns and the Arizona Cardinals defeated the Seattle Seahawks 23-13 on Sunday.

For the second season in a row, McCoy started at Seattle and came out of there with a win. Last year, McCoy was playing for the New York Giants. This season, it was Murray who missed his third game in a row due to an ankle injury.

McCoy finished with 35 completions of 44 attempts and outscored Russell Wilson in his first game in front of Seattle fans since he underwent surgery on a finger on his right hand. McCoy threw one- and two-yard touchdown passes to Zach Ertz in the first half and ran with some fortune in the third quarter when a potential interception was disallowed via instant replay review, and he got his first game with more than 300 yards in the air since 2014.

Arizona (9-2) had offensive scoring drives of 92 and 82 yards in the first half, consuming 16 minutes off the game clock. The Cardinals mounted another 7 1/2 minute drive in the fourth quarter, but Matt Prater missed a 36-yard field goal attempt that gave Seattle hope.

After hitting 20 offensive drives without a touchdown, DeeJay Dallas scored on a two-yard rush with 7:08 to play, which brought Seattle up 16-13 on an offense that featured a 48-yard reception from Tyler Lockett.

But McCoy made the game unattainable with another sustained offensive drive, which included a 20-yard pass to Ertz on third and seven to go. James Conner capped it with a one-yard touchdown run with 2:20 left.
