France’s 40-25 victory against the All Blacks is the second most bulky that New Zealand suffers in a test match throughout its history against the French team.

The French had only beaten the Maori in international matches in 2009 in Dunedin and 2000 in Marseille by 27-22 and 42-33, respectively.. However, they had also eliminated The Men in Black at the 2007 World Cup in France in the quarterfinals, 20-18.

The French team became the third team to beat the All Blacks in 2021, along with South Africa and Ireland, something that had not happened since 2000. On that occasion it was Australia, the Springboks and the French. In addition, the oceanic set they had not lost consecutive games against European nations since the 1993-1994 season.
