UFC: Rafa García stops free fall at the expense of Natan Levy

The Mexican won his first fight inside the octagon, ending the unbeaten Israeli debutant by unanimous decision

The Mexican Rafa garcia scored his first victory within the UFC.

This Saturday on the preliminary card of the UFC Fight Night: Vieira vs. Tate, Garcia beat by unanimous decision to Natan levy.

Garcia, who was coming off two consecutive defeats, had an even fight against Levy, who was slightly superior with his fists.

In total and power strokes, the Israeli finished with the advantage, 56-55 and 47-35, respectively, however, Garcia scored seven of the 12 takedowns he attempted for three of Levy.

In the end, the judges gave identical cards 29-28 to seal the unanimous decision in favor of Garcia.

With this victory, Garcia improves his record to 13-2 and is his first win in the UFC, while Levy, who debuted after earning his spot at Dana White’s Contender Series, suffered the first loss of his career to stagnate at 6-1.

UFC Fight Night 198 is headlined by the women’s bantamweight fight between contender Ketlen Vieria and former champion Miesha Tate, with seasoned welterweights Michael Chiesa and Sean Brady taking on the co-main event.
