Ohtani, Guerrero and Tatis Jr lead First Team All MLB

Shohei Ohtani was the great novelty of the All MLB teams of the 2021 season when he was selected as a designated hitter in the First Team and as a pitcher in the second squad.

The Japanese dual talent thus closes a great season where he was also selected as the Most Valuable Player of the American League.

The first team is completed by Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Vladimir Guerrero and his teammate, third baseman Marcus Semien, who is a free agent.

Also selected were receiver Salvador Pérez from the Kansas City Royals, Dominican shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr., and third baseman Austin Riley from the World Series champions Atlanta Braves.

The outfield features the National League MVP, Bryce Harper, along with another of the finalists, the Dominican Juan Soto. New York Yankees patrolman Aaron Judge round out the rangers trio.

The pitchers selected were Max Scherzer, Corbin Burnes, Walker Buehler, Robbie Ray and Gerrit Cole. Also featured in the first team are relievers Josh Hader and Liam Hendriks.

The 2021 All MLB Second Team consists of Buster Posey (C), Freddie Freeman (1B), Ozzie Albies (2B), Trea Turner (SS), Rafael Devers (3B), Nick Castellanos, Kyle Tuckers, Teoscar Hernández (OF) and Yordan Álvarez (DH).

The second squad is completed by pitchers Julio Urías, Kevin Gausman, Max Fried, Zack Wheeler, Raisel Iglesias and Kenley Jansen.

The selection of the teams in its third edition was in charge of the fans and an expert panel in a process in which the votes were divided 50% for each of the parties.
