Browns would get Kareem Hunt and Jack Conklin back to face Ravens

There is no guarantee that they will return, but Hunt feels ready to play and Stefanski sees Conklin very recovered

BEREA, Ohio – The Browns are healthier to face the Baltimore Ravens.

Cleveland would have two key offensive players back for the showdown in the AFC North Sunday night against Baltimore, as dynamic running back Kareem Hunt and two-time All-Pro starting right tackle Jack Conklin will come off injured reserve.

Hunt and Conklin they practiced on Wednesday. There is no guarantee they will play this week, but it is a positive as the Browns (6-5), plagued with injuries throughout the season, are heading to their biggest game.

Hunt, who missed five games with a calf injury, was confident he would play.

“I’ll see how I feel during the week, but I’m definitely thinking I’m going to play,” Hunt said.

Without Hunt, the Cleveland has scored 17 points or less in six of eight games; one of its most explosive playmakers has been missing. He’s also kind of a safety blanket for Mayfield, who can control passing plays and drop him at No. 27.

“Kareem is all energy, it is that spark with which he enters and plays,” he described Mayfield, who was again limited in training by shoulder, foot and knee injuries. That’s an extremely vital part for us and when it comes to the explosive part of our offense, we’ve been missing it. It is a key part of our offense, “he acknowledged.

Mayfield suffered last week against Detroit. His mobility was limited in the second half by lower body injuries, and at one point he struggled to return to the touchline.

He participated in Wednesday’s light training, but Mayfield he was in a hoodie and sweatshirt during the part of the practice open to journalists. Mayfield took a few plays, but mostly watched what appeared to be a day to rest.

Mayfield was out of practice last week and said the mini-break helped.

“I have the plays in my head,” he said. “This is the part of the season where a lot of guys are hit and it is very important to be mentally good during the week when you may not get some of these reps.”

Hunt he rushed for 361 yards and scored five touchdowns in six games before hurting against Arizona on Oct. 17. He also had 20 receptions for 161 yards and is one of the league’s top dual threats. NFL.

Hunt acknowledged that being out was tough and that he hopes to make a difference in this week’s primetime showdown.

“I always bring the fire, so I will definitely have a lot of energy and fire, and love, because I miss the game, he stressed Hunt. “I miss the practice. I miss playing. I miss everything. So I’m definitely excited. “

Conklin missed the last three games with a left elbow injury, an injury initially feared to end his season. Conklin’s return will help the running game of Cleveland and will give Mayfield some extra protection.

Conklin’s replacement, Blake Hance, who has played more on the inside, struggled on the outside.

The Browns coach, Kevin Stefanski, he wasn’t sure when he would see Conklin on the field again.

“Every time you see a player down like we did, I didn’t think it would be a weeks injury like it was. I’m not surprised (his return) when you think of Jack and what kind of person and player he is. It is as hard as it seems ”.
