Davis Cup Finals: The Results

The Davis Cup Finals already have an edition (2019 with Spain champion) although in this multi-venue format it is their absolute debut. Madrid (Spain), Innsbruck (Austria) and Turin (Italy) host the best as of Thursday, November 25, defending the colors of its flag.

The game system contemplates clashes of two singles and one of doubles. The first match is played by the second-place players of each team. The second match for the former and the doubles match follows the singles matches. Nominations can be announced one hour before the tie begins.

Madrid is host to two quarterfinals; Innsbruck and Turin, one each. While the semis and final are held in the Spanish capital.

Meanwhile, by 2022, The Davis Cup Finals will become a 16-team competition. Both finalists in 2021 will automatically qualify and the remaining 16 teams from this year’s Finals will join 10 nations from World Group I in the 2022 Qualifiers. From that group of 26 nations, two will be selected as guests leaving 24 nations competing in the Qualifiers in March next year.
