Isner: "Right now tennis is secondary in my life"

Currently in the 24th position of the world ranking, John Isner is one of the most experienced players in the Davis Cup Finals and aspires to lead the United States to glory in a team event, one of those he likes.

In fact, he participated in all editions of the Laver Cup for the Mundo team. And he was a partner of Diego Schwartzman in the last edition held in September in Boston.

After a season with few appearances on the court (23-11 record and one title, at Atlanta) and many more at home, the Greensboro bomber begins to take a much closer look at the end of the road.

“At my age I don’t need to spend three hours every day on the court, I have other responsibilities now, such as having another child, and it’s a matter of getting organized. Tennis occupies a secondary place in my life at the moment, I feel that I have played little, but I showed a good level. When you play for your country you usually bring out the best in yourself and I hope to do it this week, “he said.

He shares a squad with Reilly Opelka, Frances Tiafoe, Jack Sock and Rajeev Ram in a Group in which they have a difficult time against Italy and Colombia.
