The Cowboys sow doubts

The alarms have been raised for the third defeat in four games; the fans wonder if they will make the Super Bowl or not

At the start of the season there was no certainty that the Dallas Cowboys could even win the NFC East division. Today what his fans are wondering is whether or not he will reach the Super Bowl. What a climb in expectations in less than three months!

The alarms have gone off in Arlington for the Cowboys’ third loss in the last four games.. They were favorites to beat the Raiders for a touchdown, and they lost in overtime. Added to this, the Eagles are on the rise and visit the Giants on Sunday in a winnable game. If they get it, they’ll have gotten into a Dallas game.

Against the Raiders there were several sins of the Cowboys. At first, you cannot commit 14 penalties for 166 yards, there is simply no way to win a game with such a handicap. Then they did not have their two starting wide receivers. Without Ceedee lamb and Amari Cooper it is a totally different attack, devoid of gunpowder, of vertical threat. Lamb for being on shock protocol and Cooper positive for Covid. It remains to be seen if they are ready for next Thursday they play in New Orleans.

And also the defense returned to show its most vulnerable face. They allowed 509 yards of offense to the Raiders, with all that Darren waller did not finish the game due to injury. They allowed big plays from Deshaun Jackson and Hunter Renfrow.

Doubts in November flood the Cowboys in The Star. Against the Broncos they were a disaster. A week later they easily beat the Falcons, a bad team of bad guys. They then lost at Arrowhead to the Chiefs due to their inability to steer the attack toward the running game and without scoring a touchdown. This Thursday the loss at home to the Raiders accentuates the questions towards the final stretch.

Dallas has to win the division. I have no doubt. But to cover the whole route, I don’t think so. At the point they will have to face Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, Kyler Murray, quarterbacks capable of deciphering their deficiencies as Derek Carr did this Thursday. That is another level. Either way, expectations for these Cowboys at the start of the season were a notch or two below where they are now. Let’s not lose sight of him.
