Aaron Hicks hits his first homer in Lions win over Giants at LiDom

SAN PEDRO DE MACORÍS, Dominican Republic – Aaron Hicks debuted with his first home run in the Dominican Baseball League to lead the Leones del Escogido offense in their 6-0 victory this Sunday over the Gigantes del Cibao.

The New York Yankees center fielder was 4-2 with a home run and two RBIs while Aderlin Rodríguez was 5-2 with a double and two RBIs to lead the Lions ‘attack, for which Albert Pujols’ wake up it was 4-1.

Valdez (3-1) covered six innings shooting just four hits and a run with seven strikeouts to score the win, and Justin Nicolino (0-1) lost after allowing two hits and two touchdowns in one 1/3 inning.

On offense stood out Dawell Lugo of 4-3 with two RBIs, Aristides Aquino of 4-2 with an RBI and Hanley Ramírez of 4-2 with a double, an RBI and two runs scored.

Estrellas Orientales lead the circuit with a 16-10 mark, followed by Gigantes del Cibao (14-12), Águilas Cibaeñas (13-13), Leones del Escogido (12-14), Tigres del Licey (12-14) and Toros from the East (11-15).
