Davis Cup: Germany joins the semi-finals

In a real battle, fight Germany came back from the Davis Cup quarter-final tie and beat Great Britain in Innsbruck, Austria.

In the first match of the series, Daniel Evans, number 25 ATP, beat German Peter Gojowczyk 6-2, 6-1 in just 55 minutes and gave the first point to Great Britain.

However, German Jan-Lennard Struff, 51st ATP, beat Briton Cameron Norris 7-6 (6), 3-6 and 6-2 in two hours and two minutes and equalized the tie.

The series was completely even and it was there that the Teutons Kevin Krawietz – Tim Puetz defeated Joe Salisbury – Neal Skupski by 7-6 (10) and 7-6 (5) in a clash that had two peculiarities: he had no breaks (barely a break point) and the winners they came back from 0-5 in the tiebreak of the second set.

Germany will now face the winner of the quarter-final tie between Russia and Sweden in the semi-finals, in a purely European final phase.
