RA12 crushes Carolina and chains three victories in Puerto Rico

CAROLINA, Puerto Rico – The team of the immortal Roberto Alomar, RA12, crushed the Carolina Giants on Tuesday thanks to an explosive night on the offense of Andrés López, to chain their third victory in the Roberto Clemente Professional Baseball League.

Andrés López went 4-for-4 with a double and four RBIs, Ángel López went 3-1 with a solo homer and three runs scored and Misael González went 4-2 with two RBIs to lead the winners’ attack.

Ryan Muñoz (1-2) scored the victory with a sharp relief of two innings and a third in blank, and lost José Espada (0-2) was to allow six touchdowns and six hits in four innings.

In Mayagüez, Mark Contreras broke a tie with a two-run homer in the top of the ninth inning, and the Caguas Criollos defeated the Mayagüez Indians 6-4 to maintain the circuit lead.

Contreras went 3-for-4 with a home run, three runs scored and three RBIs to lead the Criollos’ offense, which also featured two hits and an RBI from Vimael Machín.

Julio Morales (3-0) retired an inning in order to win the game, and Robby Rowland (0-2) lost it after conceding two hits and a run in just two-thirds of the inning.

Criollos de Caguas lead the circuit with a 10-5 mark, followed by Cangrejeros de Santurce (10-6), Indios de Mayagüez (10-7), Gigantes de Carolina (5-11) and RA12 (5-11).
