Dubai Sevens: Spain made history with a great win against Fiji

Spain beat Fiji 33-19 in the Dubai Sevens II and wrote a page in the development of rugby in the European country by achieving a historic triumph, in the first confrontation in the short history between the two countries in the Seven.

Pol Pla, Manuel Moreno (2) and Tobias Sainz-Trapaga (2) were the authors of the tries for the unforgettable victory. This triumph is no coincidence, since two years ago the Lions made their first roar by beating the All Blacks 7’s 26-24 in Vancouver.

Those led by Pablo Feijoo, tenth in the first tournament played last week, had the chance to continue on this good path in the match against France. If they had won, they would have agreed to play the quarterfinals for the Gold Cup, but the 31-14 defeat still left them with the hope of entering as the best third.
