RA12 resists onslaught of Cangrejeros in Professional Baseball League Roberto Clemente

Roberto Alomar’s team, RA12, endured a furious reaction from the Santurce Cangrejeros with nine runs between the seventh and eighth innings, to escape on Friday with a surprising 10-9 victory in Roberto’s Professional Baseball League activity. Gracious.

Kenen Irizarry hit a two-touchdown home run, while Andrés López, Ángel López, Misael González hit one-run RBI singles to excel in the attackers’ attack.

Ricardo Velez (1-0) pitched six two-run, four-hitter innings for the victory, and lost Patrick Weigel (0-2), shaken with seven touchdowns in 2 2/3 innings.

In Carolina, a brilliant start by José Cruz propelled the Giants to a valuable 4-3 victory over the Caguas Criollos.

Cruz (1-1) covered six scoreless innings with a two-hitter ball and six strikeouts for the win. The setback went to the record of Yordy Cabrera (1-3) after allowing three touchdowns and seven hits in 3 1/3 innings. Major League Baseball pitcher Joe Jimenez scored the save with a perfect inning with two fans.

On offense, Oscar Santos drove in a touchdown with a single in the first inning, while consecutive RBIs by Danny Mars and Ryan Grotjohn in the fifth extended the Giants’ lead.

Indios de Mayagüez lead the circuit with a 12-7 record, followed by Cangrejeros de Santurce (11-7), Criollos de Caguas (11-7), Gigantes de Carolina (6-12) and RA12 (6-13).
