Mayagüez defeats Gigantes and maintains leadership in Professional Baseball League Roberto Clemente

> The Mayagüez Indians unleashed a 16-hitter offense on Saturday, en route to a 9-5 win over the Carolina Giants to maintain the Roberto Clemente Professional Baseball League lead.

TJ, River hit a three-run homer, Danny Ortiz hit a two-run homer, while Blaine Crim continued his offensive momentum and went 3-for-5-3 with three RBIs.

Miguel Martínez (1-1) allowed two runs and four hits with five strikeouts in six innings to take the victory, while the setback went to the record of Fredie Cabrera (1-4), punished with seven touchdowns and 13 indisputable in five innings and a third.

At San Juan, Johneswhy Fargas was 3-for-1 with a double and three RBIs, and Mark Contreras added an RBI single of one more to propel the Caguas Criollos to a 5-2 victory over the Santurce Cangrejeros.

The victory went to Julio Morales (4-0) with a blank inning in relief work, and Joshua Torres (2-2) lost, after allowing three touchdowns in just a third of work.

Indios de Mayagüez lead the circuit with a 13-7 record, followed by Criollos de Caguas (12-7), Cangrejeros de Santurce (11-8), Gigantes de Carolina (6-13) and RA12 (6-13).
