Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic (left ankle) out for next two games

Luka Doncic will be out for the Dallas Mavericks’ next two games as he continues to deal with a sore left ankle, coach Jason Kidd said Sunday.

Dallas played the Oklahoma City Thunder on Sunday and the Charlotte Hornets on Monday before hosting the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday.

“He continues to receive treatment and we’ll see how he feels for Wednesday’s game,” Kidd said.

Doncic sprained his left ankle on Nov. 15, missed the next three games and has dealt with nagging pain ever since. He sprained his ankle again during Friday’s road loss to the Indiana Pacers and later said he probably shouldn’t have finished the game.

The Mavs (12-13) are 0-4 in games Doncic lost this season. He also missed the Dec. 4 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies with left ankle pain.
