Giants will be without quarterback Daniel Jones again for Week 15

The New York quarterback has not received a medical discharge for contact after sustaining a neck injury.

EAST RUTHERFORD – The New York Giants they will be without the quarterback again Daniel jones this week in front of Dallas cowboys, from a neck injury, a source told ESPN.

Jones he underwent his weekly round of testing on Monday and was not discharged for contact. The injury did not get worse, but the images still prompted medical personnel to proceed with extreme caution.

The Athletic was the first outlet to report that it is expected that Jones miss this week’s game.

Mike glennon will probably start over instead of Jones. The recently acquired quarterback Jake fromm You might as well see some action.

Jones still has a chance to return in the season, but at some point, the Giants they must decide if the reward is worth the risk. They have only three games left after this week, and they are out of the playoff contention at 4-9.

Meanwhile, there is optimism internally that the defensive lineman Leonard williams could return for the season – perhaps as early as this week – after sustaining an arm injury Sunday against Los Angeles Chargers, according to a source. Initial fears of a serious injury were allayed with Monday’s testing.

Williams he has never missed a game due to injury in his career.

Jones has missed the last two games, both defeats, due to a neck injury suffered in the win over the Philadelphia Eagles of last month. Glennon started in his place, throwing for 191 yards with two touchdowns and one interception, in a 37-21 loss to the Chargers on Sunday.

But, Jones he has remained in game form despite not being discharged for contact. He underwent an extensive pregame session Sunday at The Angels.

That has been the weird part of the whole situation. Jones He has been able to do it all – sprint, roll, throw across the field – with no limitations. He simply has not been able to play on Sundays because he has not been discharged for contact.

The Giants Y Jones They have been hopeful that he could receive such discharge, but they have also not been able to say with certainty if he would be able to return at some point in the season. There has been nothing since the injury to indicate that the problem had worsened.

“I have nothing negative, nothing that feels less optimistic, if that makes sense,” explained the head coach Joe Judge Monday. “I have no information to tell me that it is going in the opposite direction. So we look forward to hearing what the doctors say, and seeing where it goes this week.”

JonesThe 24-year-old has completed 64.3 percent of his passes for 2,428 yards with 10 touchdowns and seven interceptions this season. Not exactly what the Giants or the young passer for the season.

It was supposed to be the year that Jones he was going to take a significant leap. This is his third professional season after being selected sixth overall in 2019, and the Giants they added weapons in the hope of building an explosive offensive around it.

It has not worked. The offensive line has suffered to protect on passing plays, the team’s most explosive players have failed to stay healthy, and Jones’ performance, at times, has been uneven.

The Giants they even fired the offensive coordinator Jason garrett last month and added to the responsibilities of Freddie kitchens. That gave to Jones his third play-commander in his first three seasons of NFL.
