In Valencia, Alexis Candelario dominated the offense of the leaders Navegantes del Magallanes to give the Tigres de Aragua a valuable 5-0 victory.
Candelario (1-0) managed not to admit touchdowns despite receiving six hits in five 2-3 innings to win the game. He walked one and struck out six. The setback went to Gabriel Garcia’s record (2-2), after conceding three runs and seven hits in five innings.
Deiner Lopez was 4-for-3 with an RBI, Hernan Perez hit a one-run RBI double and Henry Rodriguez went 4-1 on an RBI.
