Jorge Brito took over as the new president of River

The new Board of Directors of the River Plate club, headed by Jorge Brito, Matías Patanian and Ignacio Villaroel, took office this Tuesday in a ceremony held at the SUM of the Monumental.

“We managed to put River at the top of South American football and we are going for more,” Brito said during his inauguration speech in front of a hundred people and confessed: “I have immense emotion, it is the happiest day of my life.”

D´Onofrio in charge of handing over the mandate to the new president highlighted, during his speech, the presence of the opposition candidates, “seeing the River Plate family united is one of the greatest successes,” he said. At the event, the presence of Marcelo Gallardo and several historical figures of the club such as Enzo Francescoli, Beto Alonso and Pato Filliol stood out.

In this way, Brito, became the 25th president in the history of the club and the second youngest. He was very emotional when he remembered his father (who died a year ago in a plane crash) and thanked Gallardo for challenging them to get out of their comfort zone.
