Taylor Heinicke to Washington's COVID-19 List;  they'd take garrett gilbert

Washington is unlikely to name a headline until Sunday, a source told Schefter.

The quarterback of Washington Football Team, Taylor Heinicke, was placed on the reserve / COVID-19sources told Adam schefter Y Field Yates from ESPN on Friday.

With Heinicke and main understudy Kyle Allen on the roster COVID-19, Washington would take quarterback Garrett Gilbert off the New England Patriots practice team, sources said. Gilbert would be called up to lead Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles.

It is unlikely that Washington name a headline as of Sunday, a source told Schefter. Other quarterbacks on Washington’s roster are Kyle Shurmur and Jordan Ta’amu.

More than 20 Washington players are on the reserve list / COVID-19, and most of them came in this week. Of those players, 12 of them, including Heinicke, were potential starters for Sunday’s game.

Heading into Week 15, Washington (6-7) ranks seventh and last in the NFC playoffs. The Eagles (6-7) are among the teams chasing Washington for that position.
