Gustavo Costas is the new technical director of Palestino

“Welcome, Gustavo Costas. Much success in this new stage at Tino-Tino”, wrote the tetracolor painting on his twitter account. And then there are no doubts, Palestino went to find one of the most winning coaches in South America to put the soccer destinies of the Arab team on track.

Gustavo Costas left Guaraní for Paraguay in the middle of the year and since then he has been without a team. In the last hours, the possibility of him reaching the Junior de Barranquilla of Colombian football rang out loudly, but he finally signed for Palestino.

Palestino will be the 11th club in Costas’ professional coaching career, which began in 1999 managing Racing. Costas has an outstanding career and after leaving Racing de Argentina and went through important clubs in South America such as Alianza Lima, Cerro Porteño and Olimpia from Paraguay, Barcelona from Ecuador or Independiente Santa Fe from Colombia. He also directed the Atlas of Mexico and Al-Nassr and Al-Fayha of Saudi Arabia.

In his record there are ten titles: two with Alianza Lima, one with Cerro Porteño, one with Barcelona and six with Independiente Santa Fe.

Costas arrives to replace Patricio Graff, who did not continue in Palestino after staying out of the South American Cup.
