The Battle of the British, canceled

Another bad for world tennis related to the coronavirus. In addition to the known cases in the last hours, a cancellation was added.

The tennis event Battle of the British (Battle of the brits), that had Andy Murray confirmed, was canceled amid a surge in cases.

The edition of the tournament created by Jamie Murray was going to be played this time in the P&J Live Arena in Aberdeen, Scotland, this Tuesday and Wednesday with players like Andy Murray, Daniel Evans and Cameron Norrie headlining the Scotland-England tournament.

A new date for the men’s team competition has not yet been announced. “Obviously, this is disappointing to all of us organizing the event, the players and most importantly the fans who wanted to come see us,” said Tournament Director Jamie Murray. “Andy and I and all the players who will participate are absolutely devastated, but some things are more important than tennis. The only thing that matters is keeping everyone safe.”
