Cordoba workshops officially announced this Thursday the end of the Uruguayan cycle Alexander ‘Cacique’ Medina at the head of the technical direction of the initial campus.
The coach had assumed as Talleres DT on June 9, 2019, and in these two and a half years he achieved good results and a great performance of the team, which in 2021 played the final of the Argentine Cup, losing on penalties to Boca and ended third in the Professional League championship, qualifying for the next CONMEBOL Libertadores Cup.
The Cordoba club said in a statement: “For Talleres it has been a great source of pride to have a coaching staff of enormous human and professional quality at this stage of consolidation in demanding Argentine football. With an enormous level of respect and closeness, we have completed the evaluations, which as usual, we carry out at the end of each period ”.
“We achieved great results, we consolidated our historical identity, we made our players grow, we returned to be protagonists of national and South American football and we returned the illusion to our fans. We have overcome very difficult moments and we have learned to reinvent ourselves in order to continue growing ”, it was also highlighted in the text.
Then the board of directors, who indicated that the search for the new coaching staff will begin, explained in the statement that it was decided to accompany Medina and his coaching staff “with the vision of looking for new projects.”
“Cacique, Talleres is your home and we know that your heart takes a lot of our Albiazul mystique. Thank you very much, see you soon ”, concluded the public letter from Talleres.
Huge thanks to the Cacique, renewing our challenges
We culminated the successful work cycle of the coaching staff led by Alexander Medina 💙👏🏻
