Calendar 2022: What will the year of Los Pumas be like?

With the end of 2021 approaching, The Pumas have part of their calendar for 2022 confirmed. Outside of the tough rivals that await him, the most remarkable thing about this fixture is that the Argentine team will be local again in the country after almost three years. The last presentation of Mario Ledesma’s team in his homeland had been in August 2019 before South Africa, by the last date of Rugby Championship of that year.

Leaving aside the memory of the last window of November, in which they suffered one of their worst thrashes against Ireland, Los Pumas are preparing for the start of their activity, which will take place in July 2022. In that window, the team directed by Mario Ledesma will play home three times before Scotland. All three matches will be played on the 2nd, 9th and 16th of the same month, in Jujuy, Salta and Santiago del Estero respectively.

The most important event for the Argentine team will be the Rugby Championship, which will still have restrictions to avoid the number of trips.

In this edition, South Africa Y Australia -on two occasions- they will visit Argentina. While, the All blacks they will play twice at home against Los Pumas. This last situation will be reversed in 2023 and it will be the Argentines who will play both home games against New Zealand and two games in Australia.

The Argentine road will begin on August 6 before Australia in San Juan. The Pumas will face Australia again the following week in Mendoza and on September 17 they will play in Velez in view of South Africa before taking the plane to African lands. They will play with the world champions and then they will close their participation with the double date against the All Blacks in New Zealand.

The last commitments of the year will arrive with the November window that so far has one game confirmed and two pending. The November window will start before England, who will host the Argentine team on November 6 at Twickenham. Then, if the anticipation was confirmed, Los Pumas would visit Scotland and they would close their participation against Welsh, a team with which they will open in 2022 and which they would face four times.
