CINCINNATI – CINCINNATI (AP) – Joe Burrow set a franchise record with 525 yards with four touchdowns and the Cincinnati Bengals took solo control of the AFC North by crushing the Ravens 41-21 on Sunday night. from Baltimore.
Burrow, a second-year quarterback, broke Boomer Esiason’s team record with 522 yards. He completed 37 of 46 shipments and threw two touchdown passes to Tee Higgins and one each to Tyler Boyd and Joe Mixon as the Bengals (9-6) swept the series against the Ravens (8-7) for the first time since 2015. His 4-yard touchdown pass to Rashod Bateman gave Baltimore a 10-7 lead in the first quarter, but the Ravens – especially their battered secondary defense – couldn’t stop Burrow and the Bengals.
Johnson finished with 28 completions of 40 attempts for 304 yards, with two touchdown passes and one interception. Tight end Mark Andrews finished with 8 receptions and a touchdown. The Ravens weren’t effective running the ball. Devonta Freeman led the team with 17 rushing yards.
Baltimore is out of the playoff zone in the AFC waiting to regain key injury and COVID-19 players for its last two games, both at home, against the Rams and Steelers.
