The Pumas will play for the first time in Santiago del Estero

The Pumas They are once again local and will have as the first three destinations to cities in the Argentine Northwest. These will be Jujuy, Salta and Santiago del Estero, that with the inauguration of Unique Mother of Cities Stadium, will host the Argentine rugby team for the first time. The match in Santiago de Compostela will take place on July 17 in what will be the third and last game of the series against Scotland in Argentina.

With confirmation by the UAR of the calendar for this 2022, Los Pumas add a new province as one of their homes. In an effort to bring the best national rugby to the entire country, which began back in 1987 with the first match outside of Buenos Aires, the Argentine team took advantage of the number of test matches where he assumed the locality, which increased with the three annual days for Rugby Championship, to be presented throughout the country.

One of the regions that most enjoyed the visits of the Argentine national team, along with Cuyo, was the NOT. With the inclusion of Santiago del Estero, Los Pumas already list four of the five provinces in the region to be local. These are Tucumán, Catamarca, Salta and Jujuy (the last two will also be venues in the July window).

The imposing Ciudad de las Madres, which has a capacity for 30 thousand spectators, already has experience receiving important matches. The stadium, which was built with a view to the soccer Copa América that was finally played in Brazil in 2020, has already received several matches of the local tournament and the Argentine soccer team in qualifying matches heading to Qatar 2023. Now it is the turn of the rugby, which will be able to enjoy the presentation of Los Pumas against Scotland on July 17.
