Shea Spitzbarth is new reinforcement of Eastern Stars

The 27-year-old pitcher performed with the Tigres del Licey in the 2019-20 season

With MLB experience comes the new reinforcement of the Eastern stars for All Against All. By name Shea spitzbarth, the new San Pedro pitcher, who arrived in the country on Saturday, played in 42 AAA games where he went 3-3 with a 2.12 ERA.

The American also had participation in the Major Leagues with the Pittsburgh Pirates where he acted in five games with a 3.60 ERA in 5 innings of four hits, two earned runs, two walks and a strikeout.

The announcement was made by the eastern general manager Felix peguero who highlighted that he will join a very capable body of relievers headed by Wirfin Obispo, Fernando Rodney, Ramón Santos, among others.

Spitzbarth has experience throwing local ball when participating in the 2019-20 season with the Tigres del Licey.

In the regular series, he had action in six games, pitching 5 1/3 innings of just 3 hits, 3 earned runs, 3 walks and 5 strikeouts with a 5.06 ERA.

That season’s Round Robin, he also saw action in six games, conceding just two earned runs, six hits and striking out five opponents.

The Eastern team is with a record of two victories and two defeats, tied for second position with the Tigres del Licey, and only one game behind the Gigantes del Cibao who occupy the top with a 3-1 mark.

The Eastern Stars return to battle this Sunday at 5 p.m. in the Dominican Republic, 4 Eastern time in the United States, when they receive the Águilas Cibaeñas at the Tetelo Vargas Stadium in San Pedro de Macorís.
