Atlético de Madrid announced on Tuesday the extension of the contract of forward Ángel Correa until June 30, 2026, after the signing of his new link with the entity, with which he has already played 305 games, has scored 53 goals, has given 51 assists and has won three titles: the League last season and the Europa League and the Continental Super Cup in 2018.
“The player born in Rosario continues to write his beautiful story at Atlético de Madrid,” the club highlighted in the statement on its official website, two days after his decisive performance against Rayo Vallecano, with two goals that found his team again with the victory after four consecutive defeats in LaLiga Santander.
Last season was crucial for the conquest of the title of this tournament, when he participated in 18 goals, nine as a finisher and as many as a passer. Five of his targets were concentrated in the last nine games of the championship; one of them, in addition, that of the indispensable 1-1 in Valladolid, which was then followed by the 1-2 of Luis Suárez, in the final appointment in which his team defined success.
Correa, 26, is the third player in the current squad with the most matches, behind Koke Resurrección, with 519, and Jan Oblak, with 323, according to official club data.
