Domínguez's era in Independiente began with five casualties due to Covid

Eduardo Domínguez officially began his work as coach of Independiente this Thursday with the news of the five absences due to COVID infections.

The red squad began its preseason at the Villa Domínico campus and the medical department reported that Santiago Velásquez, Mauro Molina, Juan Zarza and Gastón Togni tested positive in the tests prior to the practice.

What’s more, Carlos Benavídez tested positive in Uruguay in the swab before returning to Argentina.

Domínguez, who signed a one-year contract on Tuesday, took charge of his first practice and will have his premiere with the classic with San Lorenzo, on January 15 for the Summer Tournament, which will be broadcast live on Star +, at the Estudiantes LP stadium.
