Indios and Criollos start the semifinals with beatings and take advantage in LBPRC

The Mayagüez Indians crushed the Carolina Giants 14-2, to take advantage in the start of the semifinal series to the best of seven, which launched the postseason in the Roberto Clemente Professional Baseball League of Puerto Rico.

Daryl Thompson (1-0) pitched five innings of just one run and three hits for the win. The setback went to the record of José Espada (0-1), after allowing four annotations in three chapters and two thirds.

Blaine Crim was 3-for-1 with three RBIs, Chavez Young drove in with a double, Brett Rodriguez added a two-run RBI single and Jim Haley was 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI.

In Caguas, Mitch Lively delivered a solid start, and the Criollos shut out the Cangrejeros de Santurce 9-0 to start with victory.

Mitch Lively (1-0) won with five scoreless innings, shooting just two hits. Adalberto Flores (0-1) fell, punished with five runs and six hits in just one and a third inning.

Vimael Machín was 4-2 with a double and three RBIs, Éngel Beltré also went 4-2 with three RBIs and Roby Enríquez was 4-2 with a double, one RBI and two runs scored.
