Brazil will play its first Davis Cup tie at the Rio Olympic Park

The Qualifiers for the 2022 edition of the Davis Cup are just around the corner. The series, which will be played between March 4-5, 2022, will have several interesting commitments ahead of the Finals.

And among them, there was news that exceeds the tennis world. It is that an Olympic venue, in this case the one in Rio, will open the doors to white sport.

Brazil will play its first tie at the Barra de Tijuca Olympic Park, the place that was used to host the tennis event in Rio 2016, when it faces Germany.

The last time Brazil played for Davis in Rio de Janeiro was in 2002, when the team was led by Gustavo Kuerten and with the presence of Fernando Meligeni and André Sá they defeated Canada 4-0.

By the same instance, it has been known since the end of 2021, that Argentina (with the debut of Guillermo Coria as Captain) will receive the Czech Republic, at the Buenos Aires Lawn Tennis Club.
