The fight against Silvana Gómez Juárez, 'La Malvada', is postponed

The first card of the year in the UFC has suffered several casualties and now it is Argentina’s Silvana ‘La Malvada’ Gómez Juárez who will have to wait for her return to the octagon, since her fight against Vanessa Demopoulos was postponed due to covid-19 protocols.

The strawweight fight has been delayed a week, from this Saturday at UFC Vegas 46 to the UFC 270 event, where the Tucuman’s partner, Brandon Moreno, will defend his 125-pound belt in Anaheim, California.

Gómez Juárez (10-3) had to debut on short notice last October 9 against Mexican Lupita Godínez with a loss, while Demopoulos (6-4), former champion of the LFA promoter, had her first appearance two months earlier, when he fell to JJ Aldrich.

The stellar event in the Featherweight, between Calvin Kattar and Giga Chikadze remains until now; However, in the last few hours the Mexican Gabriel ‘Moggly’ Benítez also announced on his social networks that he tested positive and his appearance has been rescheduled to February 19.

Benítez’s opponent, TJ Brown, remains on the card, but will now face American Charles Rosa, the promotion confirmed.
