Ángel González is the novelty in the list of foreigners from Paraguay

Ángel González, a young goalkeeper for Portuguese Porto, is the main novelty on the foreign reserved list presented this Friday by the Paraguayan soccer coach, Argentine Guillermo Barros Schelotto.

In this way, the 18-year-old footballer with a past in Libertad will have the opportunity to defend the Albirroja in the duels against Uruguay and Brazil for the South American Qualifiers for the Qatar 2022 World Cup.

On the other hand, within the call some of the main figures of the team appeared again, such as the defender Gustavo Gómez and the midfielder Miguel Almirón.

Who will not be in this opportunity will be the attacker Alejandro Romero Gamarra, who was injured playing for his team, Al-Taawon of Saudi Arabia, and will have to face a recovery of several months.

In the double qualifying date, Paraguay will host Uruguay on January 27 and then visit Brazil on February 1.

With 14 of the 18 games already played, those led by Barros Schelotto are in ninth position with 13 points, four below Peru, which is currently fifth and is in the play-off zone.

The table is led by Brazil and Argentina, who have already made it to the World Cup in Qatar, followed by Ecuador, Colombia and Peru.
