Colo Colo defeated Universidad de Chile 2-1 and won the Summer Superclásico

With an important superiority in the game and in the first duel for both in this preseason in Argentina, Colo-Colo beat Universidad de Chile 2-1 this Friday, which did not have a good presentation in Santiago Escobar’s debut as its technical director.

The first half was one of a lot of friction and strong legs, where both teams managed to generate scoring chances. In fact, it was the blues who started the engagement better and they had the first chance to open the result through a header from Cristóbal Muñoz in the 7th minute of the match.

After that period, the whites managed to recover in the game and after two warnings from Pablo Solari, it was Gabriel Costa who opened the scoring in the 42nd minute, after a dubious penalty by Hernán Galindez on Juan Martín Lucero.

For the second half, the Blues made a series of changes to give the youth minutes, replacing the experienced starting 11. This was taken advantage of by the team led by Gustavo Quinteros and with an accurate header from Maximiliano Falcón they increased the advantage in the match.

After this, Colo-Colo controlled the ball and managed to generate more options from the feet of Joan Cruz, who entered in the 68th minute replacing Marcos Bolados. Those led by Santiago Escobar had a hard time taking possession and it was at this time that they left a bad image and where Campos ended up saving his team from a landslide.

This was used by the blues who managed to discount after 84 minutes after a good play and definition of the 17-year-old, Darío Osorio, who traveled more than 40 meters with the ball to beat the goalkeeper, Brian Cortes. Then they tried to get a tie, but they couldn’t generate more options.

El Popular must prepare its next match for the Summer Tournament, where it will face Boca Juniors this Monday at 9:00 p.m. Meanwhile, the university students will have their next game on Thursday, against the Xeneize team itself.
